COVID-19 University Updates
December 22, 2020
Members of the Rutgers Community,
As 2020 draws to a close, the university administration has continued to assess the public health concerns and operational changes brought about by the pandemic. While we are optimistic about the future—one that will be shaped in part by the vaccination program—given the current statistics and trends, the university will continue to take a cautious approach to protect the health and safety of all members of the Rutgers community.
Please note the following updates:
- The prohibition of indoor and outdoor events, set to expire on January 4, 2021, has been extended through March 31, 2021.
- The prohibition of off-campus university-sponsored events, scheduled to expire on January 4, 2021, has been extended through March 31, 2021.
- Employees or students who are regularly scheduled to be on campus should familiarize themselves with the university’s testing protocols and take appropriate action as outlined.
- The COVID-19 observation reporting form that allows community members to anonymously register violations of the university’s safety protocols.
It is important that every member of our community remain familiar with the current version of Returning to Rutgers and visit https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu for additional and the most up-to-date information.
As 2021 dawns, we look to rebuild our community in a safe, careful, and planned manner. Please watch for information early in the new year regarding a return to the workplace.
As always, please Wear a face covering, Watch your distance, and Wash your hands!
Best wishes for a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season,
Antonio M. Calcado
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
